Cedar Grove Middle School is located in Supply, North Carolina and is part of the Brunswick County School System. The middle school was built in 2008 and opened for the school year in 2009, the entire county had to be redistricted in order to place students in the new facility.
"The new middle school was built on approximately twenty-five (25) acres of
land located at 750 Grove Trail SW, Supply, North Carolina 28462. The school
site is part of a total park and school site of 157.98 acres. The 95,480 square
foot building is made of masonry/steel construction with a student
capacity of six hundred & fifty (650). The building has a standing seam
metal roof, equipped with a sprinkler system throughout, with a state of the
art access control and security systems including an extensive closed circuit
television surveillance system. The building has thirty-seven (37)
classrooms consisting of eighteen (18) 6th-8th grade language arts, social
studies & math classrooms, six (6) science labs, an art room, one (1) band
room, one (1) choral room, one (1) ISS room, three (3) resource rooms, two
(2) keyboarding/technology labs, one (1) exploratory lab, two (2) computer
rooms, and a media center. A gymnasium with locker rooms, weight training
area, and cafeteria are provided along with office and support rooms.
The outside area consists of 118 parking spaces of which five (5) are
handicapped. The bus parking area will accommodate twelve (12) buses. The
middle school has a multi-use play-field and access to park facilities
including soccer field, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a
football field. Bids were opened February 21, 2008 with the low bid, for base
and selected alternates, totaling $14,093,025.00."

After redistricting the school has population of 445 students compared to the state average of 651. Their average class size is twenty students, which is common. There are a total of 32 teachers in the middle school and 94% of them are fully licensed with instructors evenly distributed between experience ranges, 0-3, 4-10, and 10+ years. Cedar Grove Middle School's population is made up of 69.2 % Caucasian, 20.1% African American, 4.9% Hispanic, and 5.8% other races. Compared to other middle schools in the county, these numbers are more evenly distributed.
